FAQ
Everything families ask about caring for a parent from abroad, and everything CareMates ask about the role.
For NRI families with parents in Kerala: how visits, coordination, plans and payment work.
Every Zeraphos CareMate undergoes background verification, credential checks, and onboarding assessments. CareMates are trained for elderly support and regularly reviewed by our care operations team.
Your family dashboard provides visit summaries, photos, observations, updates, and important notifications in one place, so you always know how your parent is doing without chasing calls or unclear updates.
No. Zeraphos is a companionship and care coordination platform, not a hospital, clinic, or emergency service. We help families stay informed and coordinate the right support when needed.
Care is not just about monitoring. It's also about companionship and emotional wellbeing.
CareMates are matched based on comfort and personality, not just care needs. The goal is simple: your parent feels seen, not just checked on.
We offer flexible care plans ranging from regular check-ins to periodic wellness visits. Support can be adjusted anytime as your parent's needs change.
Every visit is a full 60 minutes: a real hour with your parent, not a rushed check-in. Your CareMate runs through medication reminders, spends unhurried time in conversation and companionship, does a quick home-safety check, and logs how the visit went in a complete report to your dashboard. Need longer or more frequent visits? Your CCM can adjust your care plan anytime.
Most local agencies focus on staffing. Zeraphos focuses on coordination, visibility, and consistent communication for families abroad.
Every visit includes a structured update in your family dashboard, so you always know what happened, how your parent is doing, and what needs attention.
Your CCM can help coordinate doctor appointments, medical transport, home lab sample collection, medicine deliveries, accompaniment to temples and places of worship, and other day-to-day care logistics, while keeping your family informed throughout.
Yes. Zeraphos coordinates pharmacy pickup and delivery as an errand on your behalf: a CareMate collects your parent's prescribed medicines and brings them home, so your parent never has to make the trip. CareMates also give gentle medication reminders during visits, but they never administer or change any medication. Your family is kept informed.
Yes. A CareMate can accompany your parent to the bank, pension and government offices, and other essential errands, helping with the queues, paperwork, and getting there and back, so your parent isn't managing it alone. It's part of the everyday assistance and companionship a visit can include, and your family stays informed.
Companionship is the heart of what Zeraphos does. A CareMate spends unhurried time with your parent: conversation, presence, and a familiar face, which is often what aging parents miss most when their children live abroad. Each visit also includes a gentle wellbeing check-in on how they're sleeping, eating, and feeling.
That's exactly who Zeraphos is built for. We're a cross-border care service: a CareMate is with your parent in India, while you stay connected from wherever you live abroad, with updates and coordination in your timezone. It's designed around the NRI family, not a local agency you have to manage over long-distance calls.
You can pay securely online by card from anywhere in the world, processed by Stripe. US-based families can also pay via Zelle. Your payment details are always handled through secure, trusted providers.
Zeraphos currently serves families with parents in Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Kollam, and Pathanamthitta districts in Kerala. If your parent lives outside these districts, you can still join our expansion waitlist and we'll notify you as we launch in more areas.
For people applying to visit and support parents on the ground. See the full role and apply on the CareMate page.
Visits may include medication reminders, companionship, conversation, light mobility support, observation, and logging a visit summary through the Zeraphos app.
Completely flexible. You choose which visits to accept and when. There is no minimum weekly commitment, though reliability matters once you accept a visit.
CareMates are paid for every completed visit. Rates vary by location, and additional bonuses may be available based on visit volume and consistency. Full payout details are shared during onboarding.
If you need to cancel a visit, please notify us as early as possible so we can arrange replacement support for the family. Frequent last-minute cancellations may affect your standing on the platform.
All CareMates complete identity and background verification before their first visit to help ensure the safety and trust of the families we serve.
Before starting, every CareMate completes Zeraphos Training covering observation & reporting, visit logging, family updates, medication reminder protocols, companionship skills, and common in-home care situations.
You are never on your own. Zeraphos support is available during visit hours for medical concerns, difficult situations, or unexpected issues. In emergencies, contact local emergency services first, then notify Zeraphos.
Our team reviews every application. Shortlisted candidates complete a phone interview, followed by a video or in-person interview and onboarding training before receiving visit assignments.
Talk to our care team. No pressure, no obligation. We'll help you work out the right care for your parents.
